RJ Tougas provides claim adjustment, litigation management, and risk management services for Centra Claims Management Inc.  With experience in general and commercial liability claims, his primary focus is professional liability errors and omissions matters.  His work includes claim experience in Canada, the United States of America, and the Caribbean.

 

Mr. Tougas has provided claims and litigation management to a variety of professionals, including architects, engineers, appraisers, financial planners, insurance agents, real estate agents, optometrists, and others.  Additionally, Mr. Tougas’ commercial general liability experience includes claims against commercial cleaners, retail operators, herbicide applicators, and various construction providers.

 

Acting on behalf of Insurers and Insureds, Mr. Tougas frequently participates in mediations and has prepared materials for inter-insurance company arbitrations.

 

Additionally, Mr. Tougas provides supervision and administration to professional associations and companies that are substantially or totally self-insured. In addition to ensuring that they remain well informed and that insurance program objectives are met, he is involved in long term efforts such as with management, education, and other associated endeavors.

 

He further provides guidance on policy construction, interpretation, and application. Mr. Tougas frequently provides advice to insurers on matters of coverage and has assisted in the development of policy language.

 

Mr. Tougas provides insurers, insureds, and other claims stakeholders with practical advice at all stages of insurance claims and works hard to ensure they are all well informed about the process.  With experience in claims ranging from Small Claim actions to multi-million dollar litigation, he seeks a collaborative approach to strategically achieving his clients’ goals.
